Everything Is The Next Big Thing
While discussing Facebook hype and the Parakey purchase this morning, Peter articulated the way I have been feeling reading the blogosphere as of late.
"Well if you basically tout everything as the next big thing, you'll eventually be right."
Somehow I am hearing Noam Chomsky's voice and seeing an image of a roll of toilet paper going on forever when you say that ala manufacturing consent.
Citizen journalism? The real sad truth is that the more things change the more they stay the same. The worst of it is that much like statistics, it appears less biased….
(wow two question marks in one paragraph – musta been my kids 104 temperature for 3 days that has made me so darn serious - that or the whisky ;)
Sadly, change "eventually" to "always" as the blogosphere generates its own hype... ;)
